High Performance Computing (HPC) Systems

The Albuquerque High Performance Computing Center supports a wide range of high-end computation and visualization platforms. A particular area of expertise is research and development relating to Linux clusters.

The two largest HPC systems at the AHPCC are Linux Superclusters: LosLobos (512 processors) and Roadrunner (256 processors), each having a high bandwidth, low latency Myrinet interconnect. These systems have been made available to the AHPCC with the support of the National Science Foundation, through a collaboration with National Computational Science Alliance.

In addition, the AHPCC supports two smaller superclusters, BlackBear (32 processors), for general use by UNM faculty and students, and Azul (32 processors), a specialized research machine requiring special access.
