Proposal To NSF CISE ACR On Visualization And Advanced Data Management

The AHPCC has been developing a proposal to the solicitation NSF 98-168 for a March 1, 2000 deadline in the area of visualization and advanced data management. The IBM machines under the SUR award would greatly enhance our proposal to NSF by providing a large, significant, but potentially commodity environment to examine and evaluate our proposed ideas to NSF. We are currently seeking academic and commercial collaborations to develop our proposal. Although this proposal to NSF is only just being formulated, the SUR machine with the potential for computation, rendering, visualization, and input/output carried out in parallel on the different machines permits the development of a very significant proposal based essentially on widely available and commodity computational machines.
